Flower Power!

Finally it's spring and the flowers are in bloom!! However, I'm not a big fan of the yellow pollen everywhere. It literally looks like yellow snow on the ground and you make footprints when you walk on the sidewalk. But thankfully I don't have allergies and the pollen is finally gone. But with all that pollen comes pretty flowers!!!

I love love love flowers (as I'm sure every other girl does)! Having flowers in my home just puts a smile on my face. They just make the world a happy and pretty place. I just recently planted my first flowers in a hanging pot. It made me want to start my own little garden. Someday I'll have an herb garden, a flower garden and a vegetable garden. That will be a daring feat, but for now I'll stick to the hanging pot :)

And speaking of gardens, Josh and I visited Duke Gardens on Easter where we had a picnic. All the flowers were in bloom and it was gorgeous! All the pictures are from our trip to the gardens. At Duke Gardens, which was first started in 1930s, there are over 55 acres of gardens right in the middle of Duke University. It reminds me of something out of a movie like The Secret Garden or something. You could literally get lost in this place. It's what I imagine a big garden on the property of a mansion in England would look like.

Since Josh hasn't started the next part of his training yet (TBS) he's had time to come down and visit me a couple of weekends. He saw my place for the first time a couple weekends ago and loved it! It's been so great having him here, but i just hate it when he has to leave. I really wish we didn't have to do these weekend visits but it looks like that's the way it's going to be for the next year or at least until I graduate. But the good thing is at least we are close enough to drive to see each other. It looks like the next time we see each other we'll be going up to D.C. to hang out for a little or possibly the beach. I've never been to an East Coast beach but from what I hear they are really beautiful and the water is a lot warmer. Maybe that means I'll actually get in the water for a change.
